It's Official!

It’s official! We have formally adopted Gizmo, the lhasa apso, from the neighbor. He’s been staying with us for the past few days and we have all become very attached. I took him down to visit his mom yesterday and she told me that she had to get rid of him as her husband did not want Giz coming back inside in the winter and she realized that she just could not take care of him properly. It was a bittersweet moment.

Here is a shot of Giz and Bee having a puppy hug in the midst of a play session

  3. Congrats. Its been a while since I’ve visited so I don’t know the history but the subject of animals is near and dear to my heart. I know that it was hard for your neighbor to part but that’s great that she could come over and visit from time to time.

    Adorable picture btw.

  4. Hey, how are you doing? Hope all is well.

  6. love animals!

I am so upset today. The super in a nearby lot where some cars are parked and there are many rats here in new york city now – poisoned the cats – and the rats.

this is a very slow painful death. these were not feral animals. they came when I called and were very affectionate. They were animals put out. I rescued one brother and the other died, I never got to him. People here often put out animals after they figure out how much work it is.
this winter I rescued two pit bulls – one was a red nosed pit puppy whose paws were ripped and shredded from the salt in the snow.

so many sad stories. actually have a blues poem about it.

  7. Thanks Fiducia,
He’s a pretty happy little guy.

  8. Thanks LLnL,
On a recent visit down to Gizmo’s former mom, we found out that he is not a lhasa, but a card carrying AKC shi tzu. We also found out that he was born on July 28 2007: A leo pig… It fits the little guy. He becomes more confident every day… and naughty:)
